THE ROOM OF SECONDARY LIGHT
ROOM INSTALLATION - 20 IMPROVISED CONCERTS [2002] - HOTEL REISS, KASSEL

A former conference room of the Hotel Reiss was staged with white floor, wallpaper and light colored curtains. Five custom-made tables and a chandelier were light and color controlled via DMX. The antique chairs remained in the room and were modified with bass shakers underneath the seats which transmitted the low frequencies from the produced sound.

A painting of Jerome Bonaparte (after whom the old room was named), the brother of Napoleon Bonaparte, that hung on one wall was reproduced and turned into a "double image". (Depending on the angle of view a different image of him could be seen). One was slightly modified, caricaturing him according to the rumors about him being a party animal in contrast to the majestic nature of the original image.

Once or twice a week, live improvised concerts were performed by SpringerParker and Wolfram Spyra with changing special guests.
